Sibley Elementary had a very special guest today! Author Douglas Wood paid our students a visit and put on an amazing presentation containing songs, stories and writing advice. He has written 30 books in his career including "Old Turtle", "A Quiet Place", "Grandad's Prayers of the Earth" and the "Can't Do" series. He was an engaging presenter with a wonderful message for our students. We really appreciate him coming to visit us!
In the photo above Douglas is showing students the first draft of the book "Old Turtle" that he wrote on a yellow legal pad in just 30 minutes. It was remarkable to see the rough draft of such a wonderful and award winning book!
